Iceland Estuary

Iceland Estuary #3 (2015).

The river estuaries on the south coast of Iceland are formed by the confluence of glacial rivers and the sea, creating a unique and constantly changing landscape. The swirling patterns of the rivers as they mix with the sea, have a painterly quality as large swatches of the patterns are actually submerged. At eye level, these patterns can not be seen due to the water's surface reflection. Only from an elevated perspective, can the shapes and materiality of the river beds be seen and photographed through the water's surface.
